Good idea you had

I do stand up myself, and was looking forward to something. It was a good flash, it's just sad that I've heard most of those before.

The graphics were alright. Not much movement, and not much lip synching. Most of the things drawn are mediocre at best. Try doing more movement, with the comic pacing back and forth. Also, have them drink a glass of water or something.

The voice quality was horrible. To do stand up, you need a good clear voice and need to execute the jokes at proper times. It seemed like you were forcing your voices to match the characters, especially for the host. Also, the jokes were poorly executed. The comic's just said them super fast and quick. You need to take your time.

The jokes were bad. "What does a fish smoke? Sea weed!" Sounds like something I would read on the back of popsicle sticks. Most jokes you have are overused like President Bush jokes and redneck jokes. Also, don't say FUCK YOU! for laughs. Using curse words just to get cheap laughs are horrible in my opinon. Try to think of original jokes that make you laugh and the audience as well.

Overall, alright graphics, but it really lacked in the department it was focusing on. Try going to a good comedy club and learn more. Responses appreciated.

You sure do have a low opinion about this. When you say not much movement that makes me laugh because we each had ~2 minutes on stage, I had more than that. That's a lot of lip sync. and a lot of movement, considering we walked on and off stage.

The voice quality was not horrible, maybe sub-par but not horrible. But I see what you are saying.

The jokes may have been bad, but in a lot of cases that was on purpose. WAAANIMATION used bad jokes in a funny way, you are just picking out all the bad things. The swearing was unneeded, I agree.

A C- for graphics is an insult to me. You sure are acting like a hot shot for somebody whos work wasn't even good enough to get on Newgrounds, or for somebody who has never even tried Flash.

You are entitled to your opinion, but a 5 is just a slap in the face to me. This took a LOT of work. Find me one other entry where people talked non stop for 10 minutes. That a lot of work.

In conclusion, you are an ass. :)

No violence or boobs >:(

Adding violence or boobs to this flash would have taken away the wonderful experience I had with this flash.

The graphics were superb. This competes with some of the stuff you could watch on cartoon shows. I think that you could have a future career in animating, unless you have one already, with the skill you have. The graphics had many styles, ranging from realistic to what to me seemed like Pacman ghosts. It reminded me a little bit of Disney's movie Fantasia.

The song was boring though. Maybe because I am so used to watching your Witch Doctor and Your Horoscope for today (which are amazingly addictive to watch by the way). But, this flash was more on the serious side, so I can understand the choices.

No violence, interactivity, or humor. When I usually see you on the BBS or watching your other flash, I usually laugh seeing your input on things. But this time, I kept a straight face on.

Overall, good serious flash, but I am so used to your other fast paced music videos. Still, great work and keep it up!

Glad you're back!

After you not submitting flash for a few weeks and your front page post, I was expecting something soon. This came out sooner than I thought.

The graphics are still smooth. I really like the new preloader, but I liked the other ones with a little bit of humor tied in. Also, the claymen have been improved, and I can see less of your finger prints on them. Also, you stick true to your style with the clay charcters.

The voice acting is still funny as ever. I don't know why, but when ever I hear their voices, I just can't help myself from cracking a smile. The voices were very clear, and you're doing a great job.

Little interactivity, one violent act, and good humor. Not much too make me laugh out loud, but great for a chuckle. The humor is good, but in some parts just felt a little empty. I bet it is hard with about 100 flashes and trying to think about original material. Still, that takes a lot of effort.

Overall, great flash, and keep them up. And to continue what dave said, I love you too. :)

thanks for the wonderful review metaldirt! :D

Alright

I was kind of dissapointed in this one. When I pressed play and noticed all those "buttons" on the bottom, I thought it would be a game. Lo and behold, I click them, and realized they were just a part of the movie.

The graphics were still good. Seemed to improve much more than the original, and you are a better sprite artist. Some parts like the gun, were hard to make out though. It would be nice if you had a wider selection of guns to choose from.

I'm skipping sound to focus more on the interactivity. The button pressing for me just gets tedious. I have to have my hand on the cursor just to watch a movie and keep clicking next over and over again. It would be nice if could be one fluid animation. Or, just change it into a game, and let people play a parody version of Maniac Mansion.

Alright humor. You didn't bring anything new to make me laugh out loud. Good for a quick chuckle, but when you watch it again, the jokes are too predictable.

So overall, alright flash with tedious interactivity.
Grade: B- (would be lower, but I like you)

fasdit responds:

Ah the dreaded button pushing! Sorry if I broke your finger with the onslaught of text >:D
I did away with the button pushing in 3. Thanks for the review!

Good, considering the age

Noticed this was made in 2004, but I still found it funny to this day.

The graphics were very good. Crisp and clear with movement. I would like more movement though. Try moving their arms more.

The sound was good. It did not get repetitive and was a good match for the flash. The sound effects were perfectly synched. It would be nice if you had voice actors. I hate reading.

There wasn't much violence, but there was a lot of interactivity. Maybe, too much. It got tedious clicking NEXT, rather than watching it hands free. The humor was in good taste, but was poorly executed. It would have been better spoken than written down. But, this flash still managed to make me chuckle.

Overall, good flash, but there's room for improvement.
Grade: B-

fasdit responds:

Glad you found it funny. Yeah I made this back when I was newer to flash so it's kinda crappy. As for the clicking I know it was probably annoying. If I ever make a MM4 I will definetly use voices! Thanks for the review!

MetalDart reviews again!!!

Glad to see the sequal Ashford. I was surprised to see this in the portal so quickly.

The graphics in this were much better, with a lot more characters and more movement. They were very clear and nice to look at (basically sex for the eyes.) Anyway, there is not much to improve on in the graphics department, because we've already talked about how they don't show the lower half. So, the graphics have been improved.

The sound was good. It was perfectly synched with the character's mouth's. It didn't get repetitive and was easy for the ears.

Not much violence or interactivity, but the humor makes up for that. I liked some of the jokes, made me chuckle quite a few times. The problem though, is that you can only watch it once. The next time you watch it, you can see the jokes coming a mile away.

Improvmements? It would be nice if the character's backgrounds matched for the same skit, rather than switching to court room to office place. Just for that one skit, not all of the skits. Also, just keep getting fresh material. It seems like a good series.

Overall, good flash, and it's made me laugh quite a few times. Also, I was surprised Lex Luthor's "WRONG!!!"didn't make it. Oh well, it's still good.
Grade: B

AshfordPride responds:

Yeah, I wroked a lot hard to make the sprites less shaky. I noticed in a lot of the skits in the original had sprites that would shake a few pixels in various directions or not sync with the background.

As for the office to courtroom change, that was done out of laziness and ignorance. The sprite I used was too tall to fit into the witness stand setting without having to be editted, so I just used another one.

As for Lex Luthor... Patience... I have big plans for him...

Laughing guaranteed

It's surprising seeing you make flash. Maybe it's because you're sick of the "flash by AshfordPride: -none-" comments, or like you said, you were bored.

The graphics were very clean. All were synched perfectly, they were very clear, and were a feast for the eyes. Only problem though, is that there needs to be more movement. I think they only show the upper half on the DS game, so I could see it as a potential problem. So, good graphics, but needs more movement.

The sound was perfectly synched. You had good choices for music to put in, and it all came together at the appropriate times.

The humor was the best thing about this. I have never played Phoenix Wright (GASP!), but seeing this makes me want to buy it more than ever. I loved how you parodied Adolf Hitler ATWI80D, and that just made my day.

Improvements? I was shocked that there was no Lex Luthor yelling "WRONG!!!" with a title like that. Also, more skits, if possible.

Overall, very funny flash, but I was left wanting more.
Grade: B-

AshfordPride responds:

I was bored...

With Phoenix Wright, there really isn't much movement in the game. There are never any shots of the characters walking, or anything like that, but, yeah, I see where you're coming from.

I can't believe you mentioned the Lex Luthor WRONG! That was actually going to be in the movie. Edgeworth was going to say OBJECTION! and then Lex Luthor would pop up and yell WRONG! The problem was, I couldn't find an animated Objection speech bubble.

Maybe it'll make the cut next time...

I want more!

I have never gone to i-mockery, but seeing something like this, really makes me wonder what I'm misssing out on.

Those graphics were great. Looks like it was just torn out of a comic book or an animated cartoon on television. I notices that you use some aftermath shots, showing what happens after the blow, instead of the actual punch itself. So, only improvment I could suggest is more character movment.

I liked the dong in the background. It seemed to make sense with the flash. Man can't get out of breakfast with lyrics, "There's no easy way out." It was good background music, but it felt like it needed to be more upbeat in places.

There was some violence, but not in a bloody way. More of just showing someone getting hit, and the bruises they recieved. It was some comical violence, and with a character like this, it should focus more on that.

Good humor, but it didn't revolve around humor. Just the character itself was funny. A pickle man? That was unexpected, and I found myself laughing at it.

Overall, good flash, but I wanted more. That may be asking too much, but I feel that with your talent, you could do anything. Responses highly appreciated.
Grade: A+

poxpower responds:

Thanks for a detailed review dude, its not often that people take the time to actualy say things. Yeah I made the movie before I got music for it. I dunno, I could have put some Korn over it or something to please the kids, but I like that 80's song.
But you're right, its a little weak for the flash.
Anyways sure I could do more but. Gah. Every time I just start off with something too big and in the end I'm always too lazy to finish it fully.

In conclusion: I should stick to comics, except I should draw better.

Animation of this kind is infinitely tedious. I'll copy Synj next time :p

It's a review about nothing!

This flash reminded me of Robot Chicken in a way, with all the random and wacky skits.

The graphics were pretty good. Very cartoonish and simple, and were pleasant to look at. Your style reminded me of Lazyboy's in a way, and that is not bad at all. In fact, I love this style.

The sound was alright, it's just that your mouth synching could be a little better.

Not much violence, and no interactivity, but there was humor. I loved the humor, but only chuckled a few times.

Improvements? Your spelling and grammar could improve along with the mouth synching.

Overall, good flash, but has room for improvement.
